EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE AND BUDGET COMMITTEE

  1. Executive Committee.

    1. The officers shall constitute the Executive Committee. [Bylaws. Article VI, Sec. 1]
    2. The Executive Committee is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the Association's operations under the general direction of the Board of Directors. The Executive Committee is responsible for analyzing and reviewing Association operations so that effective management decisions are made. The Board of Directors, as it deems appropriate, may delegate powers to the Executive Committee. [Bylaws. Article VI, Sec. 3(a)]
  2. Budget Committee.

    1. The Executive Committee also serves as the Budget Committee. The Executive Director is an ex officio member of the Budget Committee. The Secretary-Treasurer serves as the Chair of the Budget Committee.
    2. The Budget Committee is responsible for gathering requests for financial allocations from operating areas of the Association and for compiling financial information necessary for drafting the annual budget. The annual budget should be drafted by July 30 of each year.
    3. The Budget Committee presents a proposed budget to the Board of Directors at their first meeting of the fiscal year. The proposed budget includes allocations for divisions, committees, and interest groups based on the Association's mission and goals, estimated income, and the requests submitted by the division, committee, and interest group chairs. After approval of the budget by the Board, the Budget Committee is responsible for notifying the chairs of the approved budget allocations. All responsible parties should be notified of their budget allocations no later than September 1 of each fiscal year.
    4. The Budget Committee is responsible for monitoring the income, investments, and expenditures of the Association and for making recommendations about financial policies and procedures to the Board of Directors for their consideration and approval. The Budget Committee is also responsible for providing regular financial reports to the Board of Directors and the membership.
