Executive Director Performance Review
Prior to June 30 of each year, the President should distribute a performance review
form to the two other members of the Executive Committee, giving a deadline date by which
it should be returned to him/her. After receiving the completed performance review forms,
the President should complete a final performance review document for the Executive Director
based on the feedback received from the Executive Committee members. If
necessary, the President should confer with the other members if there appear to be
conflicting assessments of the Executive Director's performance. The President
should send the Executive Committee members a copy of the final document for their review
prior to presenting it to the Executive Director.
The President shall provide the Executive Director with a written copy of the
performance evaluation, preferably prior to the end of the fiscal year (June 30). The
President should encourage the Executive Director to make comments on the evaluation
of he/she wishes and request that the Executive Director return a signed copy to the
President for his/her files. If the performance review indicates that there are areas in
which the Executive Director needs to improve his/her performance, the President is
responsible for meeting with the Executive Director to discuss these developmental
needs.
The Executive Committee shall base its decision whether or not to extend an offer of
continued employment to the Executive Director on the results of the performance
review. The employment agreement with the Executive Director shall govern the
Association's employment relationship with the Executive Director.
