The Montana Library Association Council is an advisory body to provide broad policy direction to the Board of Directors. [Bylaws. Article IX, Sec. 1] The President is responsible for communicating with the Council. To assist in keeping the Council informed, the Administrative Assistant will provide copies of the agendas and minutes of all Board of Directors meetings to Council members.
The Council consists of the Board of Directors, elected ALA, MPLA, and PNLA representatives, and the chairs of all committees and interest groups. Other members may be appointed to the Council at the discretion of the President. [Bylaws. Article IX, Sec. 2]
The Council meets during the annual meeting of the Association. [Bylaws. Article IX, Sec. 3] The President is responsible for encouraging Council activities to elicit discussion of Association policy issues.
